Your comment shows a true lack of understanding the weight issue with pcos women. Weight gain is due to Insulin Resistance. The body does not metabolize any form of carbohydrate well. Most of it is stored in the body as fat. Due to high levels of androgens, the female body stores fat in male patterns (in belly and around organs instead of on hips and thighs as women usually do). I gained upward of 20 pounds a year even while exercising and dieting (low fat high carb...boy i was in the dark). I got my weight gain under control with glucaphage and a low carb diet combined with exercise. I have lost 35 pounds, but I am still at 240 pounds. For the record, I have never been a person to overeat or lie around and do nothing.

Your comments shows a lack of understanding but also a lack of compassion. Many with pcos suffer every day due to body issues whether weight gain, male pattern hair growth/or loss. Making crude remarks does nothing to support women with pcos nor are these remarks welcome. This list is about support. I do believe if you cannot be supportive in a positive way then perhaps you need to find another group to spout your venom and verjuice upon.

I want to be defined by my actions not my fears.
