Good question vidgirl@excite.com. I always wondered that myself. I am always getting them. Let me know what you find out.
Thanks!

Message-ID: <200306250118.h5P1IQN29894@dns.obgyn.net>
OK ladies, I posted a message on here earlier in June and asked if
anyone was interested in being an 'online buddy' for encouragement and
so on. I've heard & read a ton of women 'say' I want to do this and I
need to do this, but do nothing about it. Trust me, I've been there.
There are days where I don't want to get up, there are days I hate the
world, but we've got to move on and deal with it. Poop or get off the
pot ladies!!!
Here's what I propose.....I've started a chart to track weight &
measurements (waist, chest, r-arm, r-thigh, hips) if anyone out there is
interested in joining here's what you need to do....
Every Friday, weight in, measure, e-mail them to me. I have created a
spreadsheet to calculate this information and we'll be able to do this
as a group. If you don't e-mail them to me by Sunday, I'll send out the
list to everyone (Monday) and your info will have 'zero' in the fields,
then you can catch up next week. This maybe a good thing for all of us.
Some of us are already doing things to help, walking, tae kwon do,
working out, whatever, it's also important to track these things and to
have support and I'm prepared to offer that. Don't get me wrong I have
a family and I work around 55 hours a week, I do however, spend 45
minutes 2 times a week with my son & husband at tae kwon do. I never
thought I'd enjoy it, but after watching my son for 2 months, I was
convinced it was for me....so whatever is for you, stop your complaining
or whining and let's do something about it. If you want to send me a
picture (like one now for before and then one later) then if anyone
wanted to we could maybe arrange a get together in one year or so. Just
to meet and see how we've done. I'm sure some aren't going to be able
to travel, but maybe the others could. Or we could treat ourselves to a
day/weekend at the spa (Thanks for the idea Brandee).
So please note, this isn't to put down anyone or make anyone feel bad,
it's to help and reach out. For so long I thought I was just
'different' I had no idea that what I'd been dealing with was PCOS and
I'm not about to let it take charge of me. I want to grow old with my
husband and I want to become healthier so that nothing else can
contribute to other health realted issues.
So please e-mail me if you're interested and let's get this thing going.
I'd like to kick this off on July 1, and let's make the goal to go for
one year.
My e-mail address is teakupgirl@hotmail.com. Please place PCOS Check-In
in the subject line for your information or questions.
Take care and good luck to everyone!!

Okay ladies this is scary...fate or God's intervention I don't know. I
am Elizabeth and was shocked when I got back on the site to see my
letter and what I had written. Not because it was not true but because
it was and what has changed since that time. You see I now have a
beautiful 5 month old son. After not using birth control for 10 years
and not conceiving I find out last June 2002 I was pregnant for the 3rd
time at the age of 39. Remember I had been told I would never have
children. The key seemed to once again be losing the weight on the
vitamin program which triggered the pregnancy. I have also cautioned
women because this outcome (pregnancy)has happened to at least four of
us that I know of. I believe that the vitamins (feeding the body) and
the reduction in eating carbs works for those of us who have struggled
with the disease. Unfortunately I developed complications while
pregnant and am now under a doctors care again for weight, high blood
pressure, etc due to the disease. I have been back on the vitamin
program for two weeks (I just finished breast feeding) and am looking
forward to some results. I hope that losing weight again will take care
of the blood pressure, high cholestrol, etc. As a precautionary to
everyone following this story the vitamins I was on have been changed to
not include ephedra. I don't know if that will make a difference in the
weight loss because it has only been two weeks, hopefully not. If you
will write back I will try to respond with the information requested.
And remember don't ever give up hope I am living proof (old living proof
now @40) that miracles with PCOS happen.
