PCOS BUDDIES--Let's do something about it!!From: Dawn (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 24 Jun 2003 20:18:26 -0500 (CDT)
OK ladies, I posted a message on here earlier in June and asked if anyone was interested in being an 'online buddy' for encouragement and so on. I've heard & read a ton of women 'say' I want to do this and I need to do this, but do nothing about it. Trust me, I've been there. There are days where I don't want to get up, there are days I hate the world, but we've got to move on and deal with it. Poop or get off the pot ladies!!! Here's what I propose.....I've started a chart to track weight & measurements (waist, chest, r-arm, r-thigh, hips) if anyone out there is interested in joining here's what you need to do.... Every Friday, weight in, measure, e-mail them to me. I have created a spreadsheet to calculate this information and we'll be able to do this as a group. If you don't e-mail them to me by Sunday, I'll send out the list to everyone (Monday) and your info will have 'zero' in the fields, then you can catch up next week. This maybe a good thing for all of us. Some of us are already doing things to help, walking, tae kwon do, working out, whatever, it's also important to track these things and to have support and I'm prepared to offer that. Don't get me wrong I have a family and I work around 55 hours a week, I do however, spend 45 minutes 2 times a week with my son & husband at tae kwon do. I never thought I'd enjoy it, but after watching my son for 2 months, I was convinced it was for me....so whatever is for you, stop your complaining or whining and let's do something about it. If you want to send me a picture (like one now for before and then one later) then if anyone wanted to we could maybe arrange a get together in one year or so. Just to meet and see how we've done. I'm sure some aren't going to be able to travel, but maybe the others could. Or we could treat ourselves to a day/weekend at the spa (Thanks for the idea Brandee). So please note, this isn't to put down anyone or make anyone feel bad, it's to help and reach out. For so long I thought I was just 'different' I had no idea that what I'd been dealing with was PCOS and I'm not about to let it take charge of me. I want to grow old with my husband and I want to become healthier so that nothing else can contribute to other health realted issues. So please e-mail me if you're interested and let's get this thing going. I'd like to kick this off on July 1, and let's make the goal to go for one year. My e-mail address is teakupgirl@hotmail.com. Please place PCOS Check-In in the subject line for your information or questions. Take care and good luck to everyone!! Dawn
