I've always had the symptoms of pcos since I was 13 but never knew it was that. I started with the weight gain, the extra hair in all the wrong places, and the periods that were out of this world. But never gave it much thought, until I got married when I was 19 and my hubby and I tried to have a baby. 4 years into our marriage I went and seen a doc to see what was going on, and he just put me on bcp and told me it's always the man, so in the back of my mind I was always blaming my hubby because I couldn't have a child. So we just gave up. In April of 2002 I went back to my family doc because my sister in law gave me an article from woman's day magazine that showed the symptoms of pcos and I had almost every single one and I went to the doc and he just put me back on bcp and told me I was fine, which ticked off my hubby and he called around for a doc that knew something about pcos.
I went to obgyn and he did the blood work and the ultra sound and found out that I had mutiple cycts on my ovaries and told me I had pcos. And sent me to a re who did more blood work and put me on Metformin. In September of 2002 I found out that I ovulated for the first time in my life, and I cried because I was so happy. That maybe my dream was going to finally come true. My sister in law also has pcos and got pregnant after 3 months on her meds, she had a baby boy born on my birthday. So I know there's hope. But it's been a year for me and my hubby and I am still not pregnant yet, so we have decided to have a sperm anyalis done on him. My hubby and I have both cut back on carbs and it seems like he's giving me all his weight. I get so many cravings for sweets since I was put on Metformin, and my periods are starting to become normal and regular. But it's so hard seeing everyone having babies everwhere you look, I get so depressed.  If anyone would like to chat with me my email is whitedove_812@hotmail.com    Best of luck to everyone.
