I am 35 years old and was diagnosed with PCOS when I was just 19. I was on the pill until deciding to try to get pregnant at age 24. It took me 1 1/2 years, and a lot of Clomid, to get pregnant the first time, but I eventually did - no Atkins diet. The second time, at age 29, I was not so lucky. I went back on Clomid for another year, with no luck - not one month of ovulation. I was finally diagnosed with hypothyroidism, started synthroid, and also went on Atkins. 3 months later, on the lowest dosage of Clomid (50mg) I got pregnant. Please hang in there, don't give up on Atkins. I am 35 now, and have been diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes. I am back on Atkins, and it will probably be for life. Having learned now about the link between PCOS and Type 2 diabetes, I am convinced that if I had stayed low carb years ago after my second pregnancy, I wouldn't be where I am now. And without eating low carb, I am convinced that I would not have been able to get pregnant. Don't give up - keep trying, and good luck!
