I have had PCOS for the last 13 years (I am 31). All of those years my doctor was explaining to me all he knew and was still learning about PCOS...that the disease CAUSES obesity and not the other way around. When he tied my tubes last November he found Endometriosis invading everything and said we would need to do a total hysterectomy. As scary as that sounds I was kind of relieved that it would relieve the pain associated by the endo and a little relieved because he said there was a good possibility that it would result in significant weight loss. When I read your message I realized the probability of weight loss vs. the probability of weight gain would probably, once again, end up not in my favor. I blew over $1,000 on L.A. Weight Loss Centers (it worked but only temporarily), Slim Fast, starved myself, was on various sugar pills to control the hyperinsulinism caused by the PCOS and nothing worked. I'm 31 and once was a beautiful size 8 now I am huge. This is just horrible. It's 19 days to D-day. Why bother.
