I have to add my 2 cents worth. I have one child and have recently been
diagnosed with PCOS. I am overweight and have always been. I read a
comment that overweiht women have poor egg quality. That is simply not
true. The weight issue comes from being insulin resistant. The problem
with the insulin is a major factor to weight gain and annovulation. Many
doctors are now choosing to give Metformin (glucophage). This is a type
II diabetes drug works positively for insulin resistance. The drug also
helps most to loose weight. It does have side effects but most people
think it's worth it. My doctor too said that a good diet was very
important, but also said NO to low carb. He knows that once you go off
the low carb diet, you gain back quickly. You don't need the up/down
cycle. To conclude, overweight people have PCOS, normal weight people
have PCOS. To say that egg quality is good or bad due to weight is not
appropriate. People with PCOS may have other medical issues combined,
but PCOS alone does not constitute poor egg quality.

>>>I'm needing some info from anyone who may be having the same problems or information that may help. My doctor told me about two years ago that I have PCOS. When I started have my cycles everything was normal. Then my cycles suddenly stopped followed by an excessive gain of weight (about 150lbs), facial hair, acne, loss of hair, increased breast size (44FF), mood swings, depresion...etc. BUT here's the catch that as got me stumped. Every time I have had test ran, everything comes back NORMAL. I've had all the medical test done know to diagnose PCOS They all come back normal. (hormones, thyroid, sugar levels..etc.) I"ve tried drugs, diets, herbs everything and nothing is working. Has anyone else had this problem?
