I am new here but am trying to find out everything I possibly can about PCOS after recently being diagnosed. Currently I am reading the "PCOS Diet Book" by Colette Harris. I recommend reading this book as you research more about the syndrome. It talks about how very important what you eat is to managing your symptoms and what foods can help ease them. We never think that what we put in our mouths effects our hormones, blood-sugar levels, etc. You should call a reproductive endocrinologist in your area and ask if they are familiar with and treat women with PCOS. It seems that alot of doctors out there are quite misinformed or under-informed about this debilitating condition. At least we have some control over our symptoms (regardless of what meds you might be put on) by maintaining healthy eating patterns and excersising regularly even if you are of normal weight. Good luck to you!
