Re: diet, diet, diet...and metforminFrom: Melissa (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 4 Mar 2003 14:53:15 -0600 (CST)
I was diagnosed with PCOS 2 years ago and started on Gloucophage/Metformin small doses. Or course I had stomach problems and diarrhea. But the symptoms from that go away. I am now on 2000mg a day. Other that taking the pill, I have no idea I am on it. I also have Type 2 diabetes. What I have been told. I will probably always be on it. My Dr did tell me that if I do get Pregnant, he will take me off it and put me on insulin shots, AGGHHHH. I have not been on any BC since I have been on Met, and not gotten Pregnant. Now he said I also may have blockage but first he wants to put me on Chlomid to help me ovulate. Which I hope that will be all I need. I have Regular periods every month, always have. Other that no acne and regular periods I have all the other symptoms of PCOS. Weight gain, facial hairs (dark chin hairs), skin tags, and infertility. Please feel free to email me at anytime. GOOD LUCK and GOD BLESS!!! Vidgirl@excite.com Melissa
