Hi -
I have been diagnosed with PCOS since I was 18 (I am now 29); there is
no cure. The symptoms can be controlled by using the pill. I was on it
for about 10 years, on-and-off. Diane was one of them. Being on the
pill helped me lose the excess weight and controlling my acne.
The pill is the only "cure" I know. Plus regular exciercise and low fat
diet, just common sense. But maybe Atkins will help...I have tried many
diets in the past and they never worked. So, I am a bit sceptical about
that...Have you checked the "Insulin Resistance Diet"? I have read that
insulin resistance is very common with PCOS; I am going to check it out
too.
So I would not worry about getting on the pill. Your body will adjust
and you need to work with it.
Good luck!
