My ultrasound tech recommended a carb lowering diet like Sugar Busters or Carbohydrate Addict's Diet to help with weight loss and in turn improve my syptoms of PCOS. I started the Carb Addict's diet in September of 2002. By early November, I was down almost two pants sizes. My weight didn't really change much, but I lost INCHES. Additionally, my Reproductive Endocrinologist put me on glucophage (metaformin) and jasmine (birth control pills for PCOS) in September; I came off the Jasmine in October, and I ovulated just with the diet and glucophage alone, in November and December. I fell off the diet in December over the holidays and did NOT ovulate in January. In my personal opinion, the combination of glucophage and diet drastically decreased my PCOS symptoms in a very short period of time, including my size, my lack of ovulation, and a slight reduction in excess hair growth. I'm ready to get back on track with the diet now. Good Luck! T.
