Re: Advocare question...From: anonymous@obgyn.netSat, 18 Jan 2003 08:48:35 EST
Hi Lori - It would be impossible for anyone on this list (short of an Advocare distributor who may be on the list) to tell you how to use Advocare and which products to take. Here's a few things I have learned: 1) People either seem to have great success or no change at all with Advocare. 2) Research it carefully before you take it. Get your hands on an ingredient list (and just accomplishing this will be a challenge) and look the herbs up on the internet. Refer to sites such as http://www.quackwatch.com. 3) Don't fall for the line that they "are listed in the PDR". They were listed in the PDR in 2000 - but the PDR is an annual publication. Dare you to even find a doctor or a library that has the 2000 edition on their shelf. Publication in the PDR also makes no statement regarding safety, efficacy, quality, etc. The PDR is only a compilation of whatever information the manufacturer has chosen to send them. They don't have to pass any test to get published - just send their information in. 4) An Advocare distributor will recommend a whole list of products. If you decide to give the products a try . . . use your own head as you listen to what they tell you. 5) The basic Advocare systems involve a lot of pills and a lot of money. By the way, despite my very mixed review (I have not swallowed the company line) I do use a select group of Advocare products. If you would like any of my opinions or have further questions, please feel free to email me off list at faithgenerations@aol.com. Renae
