I take the following information from The PCOS Diet Book by Colette Harris (BTW, I too am an Adkins flunkee :) and I am enjoying the diet plan in this book and feeling good on it.):

"If you ahve PCOS, you are potentially at a higher risk of developing the following long-term health problems . . . Endometriosis - It is not uncommon to see both PCOS and endometriosis in the same woman. Are the two conditions linked? No one really knows the answer at present. . . We do know that this aberrant growth (of uterine tissue) is estrogen-dependent. Since many women with PCOS and irregular periods have raised estrogen levels with little or no opposing progesterone, this may make the situation worse for women who also have endometriosis."
