Ladies,
we are all in the same boat. And it is really TOUGH! You need to
consider all of the following: -
You should be on Glucophage/metformin (an insulin sensitiser) - not BCP.
You need to follow a lower carb diet and cut out all refined carbs.
You need to be screened for hypothyroid (Normal TSH is 2 or less).
You need to exercise as much as you can.
You may need to follow a very low calorie diet if regular low carb diets
and metformin does not work.
Diet drugs (Xenical, reductil, etc.) may be of assistance, in some
cases, AND under medical supervision.
I have finally after about 6 months of trying to lose wieght
unsuccessfully (on 1200 - 1500 calories a day and plenty of exercise and
metformin and thyroid hormone) just started losing weight (very slowly -
but it is going down) - now taking about 1000 calorie a day (with vit
and min suplement) and more intense exercise and reductil and metformin
and thyroid hormone).
It can be done. But may take a while and lots of effort and self
discipline to find what works. Just take it 5 lbs at a time. It is
more manageable.
Best wishes
