December 2002 Formal PCOSupport Meeting
Date: December 5, 2002

Place: Fairview-University Medical Center, Riverside Campus (see info
following this message) Board Room (next to Dining Room B).
Fee: A $3 donation is requested, but no one will turned away if they
can't afford to contribute.
Subject: Beauty Misconceptions, Professor Wang Ping
Ping's an award-winning poet and author of numerous books. She is also
a professor at Macalester College where she teaches creative writing.
She will be discussing her book Aching for Beauty and how beauty
regimens have defined and molded women into an unrealistic mold. We'll
have a dialogue on how important it is to take a look at who we really
are as women. What really defines us individually is not what we are
cosmetically but rather what we are as a human being. I would strongly
encourage you to read over
her book (check it out at the library if you don't want to purchase it)
so that we can have a stimulating dialogue. Here are a couple of links
I found with more info on her and her books.
