Hi,

welcome to this site. Everyone here is very supportive.

Metformin could be helpful and many of us here use it. The BCP will also help reduce the symptoms, but should not be used just by itself (without an insulin sensitiser / diet and exercise).

Exercise is very helpful in reducing insulin resistance.

Rather than 'high' protein' what you should be looking at is 'low carbohydrate'. Cut out all refined carbohydrates (sugar (including added sugar in processed foods), white bread, soft drink, candy, cakes, white pasta, white rice, potato, corn, beets, fruit juice, processed foods). Your diet would then consist of whole-grain /high fibre carbs , veges, lean proteins (fish, chicken, lean red meats), dairy products etc. Eat healthy fats!

Best Wishes
