Hi,

I can't tell you for sure medically, but my opinion only, I would be quite careful of how I low carbed with Metformin. What you said hit the mark. I have seen women who do low carb (probably quite strongly) and then hit Metformin, and they crash. I could see more of a moderate low carb. Cut out as much bread, potatoes, rice, but leave in healthy carbs like apples, grapes, oranges.

Victoria, I don't know much about low carb diets except for what I've read in the 'Carb Addict's Diet' but I wonder if someone is on insulin-sensitizing medication, is that the healthiest way to go? To me, it's redundant to do both since the medication is making your body use its insulin to metabolize the carbs yet there aren't much there to be metabolized if you're on a low carb diet. Does that make sense to anyone? Thank you for any thoughts.
