I have recently been diagnosed with PCOD also and I can tell you I never had a doctor suggest stimulating my clitoris! They did look at it to see if it was enlarged, but they didn't directly stimulate. The exams I went under were physical to look at my obesity, hair loss, abnormal hair growth, infrequency/irregularity of menustration, etc. I also had an internal vaginal ultrasound of my ovaries - beside those and bloodwork and uring work I've had no other exam. My endo (not GYN, a certified endo) stated that PCOD cannot be confirmed nor ruled out based on an internal exam alone. Evidene of adrogenous body behavior, elevated DHEA-S levels, etc. can point to PCOS. I would definitely seek out an endo doctor vs gyno for more information. I did not undergo this type of exam and would be leary...good luck!
