-- Regarding the Suzanne Somers "Somersize" eating plan--(it's not a diet)-- It worked for me. I tried it for about 2 mos. and felt great. I lost about 10 lbs. and didn't feel shaky. I believe it balanced my insulin and it got rid of my heartburn. Also could sleep through the night instead of tossing and turning. The only true way you will learn this "lifestyle change"--that's what it is--is to get one of the 3 books Suzanne has on the subject. I have "Eat, Cheat and Melt the Fat Away". I have to caution you that the book has gourmet food recipes--apparently that's mostly what Suzanne and her husband like to eat. But, you can go to her website http://www.suzannesomers.com and there's a huge forum there where the members trade recipes and give support. I stopped the whole thing when it became too difficult for me to make two versions of every meal--one for me and one for my husband and sons. They like their mashed potatoes and other things that are on the taboo list. It was just too hard for me to cook different things for me and I wasted a lot of food. I was depressed to drop the whole thing, but I do believe in what Suzanne says. It just makes sense to me. Heck, when I was a kid, my grandma always ate cream, butter, eggs, meat and avoided the potatoes and rice. As far back as I can remember, she was always slender, about 120 lbs. And, she always told me to eat more than 3 times a day, small meals. She was German, and many European people eat their meals that way. So, when I read what Suzanne said in the book I have, that the French eat their meals by 'food combining' and eating fruit separately, it made sense to me. Try it and see what you think. It may take several weeks for you to see a difference in your weight and how you feel. Don't forget to exercise! If you go to Suzanne's website, I suggest that you get the recipes and avoid the pitches for the products that Suzanne sells on the site. They are expensive. Somersweet, the sugar sub. that she sells, isn't really necessary in order to stick to the plan. I use Splenda and I have not had any problems with it at all. I suggest you go to the library and check out one of Suzanne's books and try out Somersizing and see how it goes. That way you don't have a book laying around that you won't use. Good Luck!
