Re: I'm Looking to loose weightFrom: Shel (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 2 Oct 2002 09:50:58 -0500 (CDT)
KeKe: I have just recently been diagnosed with PCOS so this is all really new to me, but I do know that for the past few years I have been fighting with clinical depression. I have been on numerous medications with not much luck because I have such an intolerance to them. From some of them I had allergic reactions and with the other ones they just didn't work. I am now seeing a fantastic psychiatrist who is an expert at choosing medications and side effects, etc. I am also seeing a great counselor who keeps things in perspective for me. I, too, have a weight issue. At 5'4" and 230 pounds, 32 yrs old, acne (since the 5th grade), my depression and low self esteem keep me at home most of the time. It is definately a daily battle, but I have had to muster up every bit of patience that I have because I am determined to feel better. Luckily I have not been suicidal. I just keep telling myself that I couldn't do that to the people that I love so much. I know that they care about me and love me, even if I don't always love myself. This depression is my own problem and I have to be strong and overcome it, no matter how hard that is. There is ALWAYS a better option than suicide. I hope you are getting help for your depression. It's so hard to deal with that alone. If you can't lean on your friends and family, then lean on the "friends" here. It's comforting to read about other people who are going through similar things, and learning some solutions for the problems we face. I wish you the best .
