Dear KeKe,

Depression in PCOS can be reactive (ie due to external factors) and physical (due to chemical imbalance etc). It should be treated.

If you have depression, you should be carefully screened for thyroid problems, quite common in women with PCOS and also a possible cause of depression.

Weight loss is an on-going battle for many of us, even with treatment. Have you seen any improvement with the metformin - will you dr. let you try a higher dose? If you have thryoid problems, the addition of thyroid meds may help on the weight loss side.

Best wishes

Sally
