Hi,

what is important is that everything is balanced. So a good multi-vitamin that includes Vit D and calcium is a good idea - along with a healthy diet that also has sufficient calcium.

I don't think you can get too much calcium becuase your body will excrete what you don't need. The vit d in most vitamin capsules is acutally the precursor to the vit d that is active and I think your body can also excrete what it doesn't need (someone else could confimr this). However, if you take the metaboloically active form of Vit D (only available by prescription and taken under dr. supervision) then you can get too much and calcium levels must then be very closely monitored.
