Diabetes cookbooks good for PCOS? (pg, m/c ment.)

Hi, all. I'm trying to get proactive about my diagnosis of "mild PCOS" (whatever mild means), which I received 9 years ago while living in another state. Maybe because my periods have always been pretty regular, I never realized the implications of this beast 'til having a miscarriage a month ago. Think I'm probably insulin resistant and am in search of a PCOS-friendly doc in my current town (Austin, Texas...anyone know of any good docs?).

Anyhoo, my head is kind of swimming from all the info I've been reading online the past week. Low carb eating is mentioned everywhere. What I'm wondering is whether cooking from diabetes cookbooks would fill the bill? I've already got a couple Amer. Heart Ass'n. cookbooks and have been combing them for LC recipes. And I just ordered a couple diabetes cookbooks but haven't received them yet. I decided to go with the diabetes cookbooks since PCOS is a precursor to diabetes, and because I didn't want to buy a bunch of the trendy LC diet books only to find that I hated eating that way.

If anyone has used the diabetic cooking route as a way of caring for themselves and their PCOS, I'd love to hear about it!
