I am 24, and have been eating a balanced diet, and exercising most of my young adult life. I do not overeat. I do not follow "fad" diets. Please understand that for some with PCOS weight loss, soley by diet and exercise is extremely difficult. We are not gluttons. We are not lazy. You message was very condesending. We aren't stupid, yes discipline and exercise definitely play a big part - but PCOS also stacks the cards against us. I like your advice about a positive attitude. That is important. However, please understand being disciplined to the food pyramid, traditional diets, and exercising sometimes just isn't enough for those with insulin resistance. People come here for kind advice. Not to be talked down to.

I've been heavy most of my young adult life, I've tried all of the "FAD DIETS" but none of them work. I've even gone to a weight loss Doctor for Medical help. Yes gained the weight right back and even more. Tried powders, pills, and all the liquid drinks and got the same results. But there is one thing that I have found has worked for me . It is called self DISCIPLINE as far as food goes. Backing away from the table before you are full. There's also another catch "YOU HAVE TO EXCERCISE". But remember the weight will not come off over night, it is a life long commitment. You have to believe in yourself and have positive attitude about your self and your weight loss. Don't set your self up for a fall either, set small goals for yourself. With the small goals you can achieve big goals.
