I am in the same basic situation. Make sure you are taking an insulin sensitizer (Met. or Glucophage). There are others if that doesn't work. My Dr has switched me to a true type II drug.

Also, make sure you check into anti-androgins. My Dr has me on Spiro. We think I may have even started to ovulate a few times a year. The only way I have found to lose weight is exercise. I know, it is a bad word and I don't even follow my own advise. Weight Watchers has a decent program, but just following the food pyramid and walking 20 min a day also worked for me at one time. Now I just have to do it agian. As far as general fads (atkins, etc) I say avoid them. As my doctor says, "anyone that can survive without bread is insane."

I am one that needs help to exercise. Perhaps finding a buddy would help you. I am open to a e-mail buddy system if anyone wants to try.
