Many find cutting starchy carbs can really help, and 50G-100G considere fairly safe by many. Some swear they need less carbs than that. It can't hurt to cut out/limit the starchy carbs, breads, cereals, pasta, sugar. They serve our body minimal benefit. Have you ever thought about pasta...it is totally synthetic..flour and added vitamins. So, why do we feel it is so healthy. Anyway, as you cut the starchy carbs, the cravings seem to decrease also. Diet and exercise are highly recommended, and both have been shown to make cells more sensitive to insulin, which is what you want. In my opinion, medications might be indicated if these things truly aren't working. In any event, folks seem to lose better with Metformin if they eat lower carbs and exercise regularly anyway.
