There's frequently a lot of negative talk about Atkins, but very little of it
is backed up. If you already have kidney problems, protein must be limited.
But, there is no research to indicate that eating high protein causes kidney
problems, provided adequate water is consumed.
Personally, I have to do a strict Atkins, nearly induction state, permanently.
If I eat more, my body has more problems. This is how it functions best.
Everyone is different. You have to experiment and see what you can do, and
what you respond to well. Everyone's body needs something different.
