To all who are misunderstood by the doctors.......

My endocrinologist diagnosed me with PCOS, even though I don't have the polycystic ovaries nor the extra hair growth. But apparently the two "hallmark" hormones from my pituitary confirmed the diagnosis. Then I was also found to have the accompanying insulin resistance and hypothyroidism. As it was explained to me by this doctor: I was most likely born with the gene for the PCOS, which "woke up" at puberty. Incidentally, this was the time I began to gain weight. With the insulin resistance, because the fuel is not being moved into my cells by my insulin, I am "fuel-starved", almost a hypoglycemic state, in my cells, while my pancreas pumps out more and more insulin in response to the starved cells. The doctor says my liver goes crazy trying to store up fat and the hallmark of this is to deposit it on my abdomen. So, where am I now? Feeling validated, for one. And also taking 1500mg metformin (glucophage) per day in divided doses, 0.88mg synthroid per day, chromium 400 per day and some other meds for neurochemical imbalance. I have the "apron" of abdominal fat that I hate so passionately I could scream. I have researched an experimental procedure for liposuctioning this abdominal fat in an attempt to resolve the insulin resistance. So far so good in that aspect however it is tremendously dangerous to lipo more than a few pounds at a time and these doctors are working on a different procedure to allow them to lipo 10+ in one procedure. Anybody else out there in about the same boat? I have no children but my husband and I didn't plan for any. My biological clock wakes up once and awhile and I wish I had done it differently but it's too late now at 39. I want on top of this weight. I need help. I hate the low carb diet and just crave carbs like crazy (naturally, since my cells tell my brain they are starved all the time).
