CHECK OUT THESE COST-SAVING IDEAS, AND ATTEND THE MINNEAPOLIS PCOSUPPORT CONFERENCE WHEN YOU THOUGHT YOU COULDN'T!

1. Locate a frequent business traveler who is willing to donate frequent flyer miles for a free airline ticket. Or a business traveler who has "Hilton HHonors" points that can be used to pay for your hotel stay. Many business travelers have a surplus of these miles/points that they will probably never use. They will feel good about donating the miles and help you at the same time!

2. Check out the PCOSupport roommate message board at http://www.pcosupport.org/phorum/list.php?f=3 and see if you can share a hotel room. Doubling up reduces your hotel rate to $52.50 per night per person. Tripling up in a room will take you down to $35 per night, although adding a roll-away bed may add another $3-$4 per person if the cost is shared. But overall, this is a great savings.

3. A local PCOSupport Chapter can hold a fundraiser or take up a collection to send a "delegate" to the PCOSupport Conference. You can volunteer to attend as the delegate, and then later lead a PCOSupport Chapter program where you share and present the things that you learned at the conference.

4. Take a road trip and split the cost of gas! Take a look at http://www.pcosupport.org/phorum/list.php?f=2 to see who is already driving and who needs a ride and can share costs with you. There are people driving from as far away as the the east and the west coasts!

5. Find a way to fund your conference registration and/or travel expenses through trade-off with a local business or organization. Employers, women's centers, newspapers, healthcare resource groups and other entities may be willing to fund some or all of your expenses in exchange for your providing them with a review presentation of what you learned, or for writing an article for a newsletter, newspaper or health fair literature.

6. Touch base with a long-lost friend or relative in the Minneapolis area who you haven't seen for a while. See if the door is open for a weekend visitor. Use Sunday to spend some quality time with your friend or relative, and really get reacquainted!

7. Like to camp? Check out the campground at http://www.co.dakota.mn.us/parks/hillscamp.htm and reserve your site only a 20 minute drive from the conference. Pitch your tent and enjoy the tranquility of your natural surroundings each evening.

8. Use the free hotel shuttle for transportation to and from the airport, as well as the Mall of America. You can get around at no cost, and still have a great time exploring the area.

9. Plan on using the Minnesota Chapter breakfast Cafe, located in the hospitality suite for economical and PCOS-friendly nutritious breakfasts.

10. Check last-minute airline deals though http://www.hotwire.com for "airline distressed inventory" at up to 50% off. Or at http://www.trip.com for several sale air fares. There are many other web sites which also offer travel deals.

Do what it takes to make it happen for you! The 2002 PCOSupport Conference promises to be worth it all!!! You can register at http://www.pcosupport.org/events/conference.php.
