I've been on the Bernstein diet for 7weeks and have lost 38pounds - I love this program and recommend it to everyone. My mother lost 84 pounds in 5 months - 3years ago and hasn't gained anything back - I also know 8 other friends involved who have had similar success. Granted, you must follow maintenance after the program to achieve & maintain the results. But who is kidding who - you need to do that with any program. I have never been hungry on the program and all my cravings are gone - it really works BUT you do have to really want to do this - the one thing I love is the medical supervision - I have a sordid health past including cancer so I love the attention that the nurses/doctors give to each patient

Yes it is a restrictive diet, however, once tuned into the foods that you can eat there is actually a wonderful variety of satisfying dishes you can make. I found that afer about 2 weeks I was used to the decreased amount of food and felt very well and energized. It is as with anything else a matter of will power, positive thinking, and initiating change in eating habits that will make any diet successfull.
