Dear Joyce

I was diagonosed with PCOS in January of this year and have been seeing nutritionist and women's health expert Marion Glenville over the past couple of months. She put me on an eating regime based on Glycemic Index of foods (ie minimising bread/pasta/rice/potatoes/sugar) and reduction of all stimulants (tea, coffee, additives etc). I have been eating 3 times what I used to eat (in 2001 I had put on 2 stones in that year alone) but in 2 months have already lost 21 lbs - after an initial dramatic drop in weight I am now working to 1lb lost per week and am working towards losing a further 3 1/2 stones. The regime has not only enabled me to lose weight it has also given me tremendous energy enabling me to cycle and attend a gym regularly which has been a great boost to my self confidence. In addition my skin has cleared up and my general mood is much improved. The diet very healthy and is very similar to that outlined by Michel Montignac in his book Eat Yourself Slim but Marilyn has also had me follow a course of supplments including hepaguard to boost liver function and chromium to boost my pancreas. Some useful websites are http://www.marilynglenville.com and http://www.montignac.com

best of luck Angela
