Depending upon which 'plan' you follow. Most plans recommend eating three meals a day, and snacks, and not skipping any meals. Skipping meals just sets you up for being hungry and eating things that will not be helpful for you. Many suggest that every time you eat any carbs, you eat some protein to help balance out the carbs.
