Hi!
I don't get it either. I've been told by my regular obgyn that I am not
IR. I've been told by my reproductive endo that I'm borderline and that
I would definately benefit from Metformin. I've now been on Glucophage
for two months and I've had a normal period both months. It IS helping
me. My endo said that the scale that most labs use is usually too high
to detect IR. She said that if you look at the results conservatively
most women with PCOS would be considered to be IR. Even women with PCOS
who were told by there doctors that they are not IR have benefitted from
Glucophage including me!
Also, my Testosterone tests have come out "normal" many times. So have
my DHEAs. This is crazy though since I have a beard just like a man and
tons of other body hair and now the start of male pattern balding so I
know that something is whacked. PCOS is such a crazy thing! God bless!
