PLEASE HELP!! sorry so longFrom: Miki (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri, 22 Feb 2002 13:20:31 -0600 (CST)
I have PCOS. Was diagnosed a year and a half ago. It was a true surprise because I didn't think I had the symptoms. My symptoms sounded exactly like endometriosis (very heavy, long, irregular periods, extreme abdominal pain and painful intercourse). Anyway, blood tests confirmed the insulin problem and I went on glucophage and a diet/exercise program (Body for Life). Starting losing weight right away (bloating and headaches improved) but I was still having period problems despite trying many bcps. We were all convinced I had endometriosis too. I had Lupron treatments which helped everything but the painful intercourse so we did a lap. Here's where everything falls apart. No endometriosis visible at all. I am so shocked and depressed about not having an answer. I kind of fell off the diet band wagon and gained a few pounds. I started Yasmin after the Lupron and recently have been bleeding heavily all the time. What I need to know is if anyone had these problems (heavy bleeding, pain, etc) associated with PCOS? Does anyone else have problems with their period if they are not eating well?
