Fruits and veggies are VERY important, but what Dr.Furman is neglecting to give you is a plan that you can stick with for the rest of your life! Thats the key..not a one month wonder..cuz if you go back to eating like you were before, all your problems are going to come right back. I think MODERATION is the key, and avoiding processed foods ,and junk food for the most part. I tried to do something similiar to yours and always felt hungry and it didnt last because it was so restricting. I am not saying you could not stay on it..if it works for you then great! For most of us though, that type of rigidity most often fails :(
