I lost 1.5 pounds since starting a day and half ago (with exercise first
thing in the morning before coffee). I ate a lot too. Dr. Furman is
of the opinion that our diets are too high in protein and fat and he
backs up this assertion with studies comparing people with plant based
diets to americans and what happens to them when they eat american diets
- they go from non-existant heart disease and low cancer rates to high
heart disease and high cancer rates.
His food pyriamid is:
fats/beef
chicken/fish
grains legumes, nuts, seeds
fruits
Veggies cooked & raw.
I was quite skeptical at first, but now that I've finished reading his
book I'm quite impressed, I don't think I've every read a more
intelligently presented and backed up medical book.
