Re: So you want to lose weight! From: Lisa (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 23 Jan 2002 19:38:26 -0600 (CST)
>>Walking on a ward,is not exercise-I am talking about activites that get the heart going! At least for twenty minutes or longer.>> Walking 15 km a day, making 10 beds within an hour of arriving at work, lifting patients doesn't count as exercise? Can you please clarify that comment? Does only 'exercise' that falls outside working hours 'count' as exercise? Are you saying that 20 minutes of 'exercise' is better than walking briskly for 8-10 hours a day, 5 days a week? <<How do you live with yourself, your making a mountain out of a mowhill? Certainly starting another argument over nothing.Take some Zoloft and cool down somewhat, before you whack right out.I am certainly thankful that I didn't have you for a nurse.>> WHERE did that come from? Do you always resort to personal insults when someone disagrees with you?
>better get your facts straight about Diabetes before posting informations as such the above.Diabetes runs in my family and not everyone loses massive amounts of weight.>> Did your READ what I said? Where did I say that everyone with diabetes loses massive amounts of weight? I said UNCONTOLLED diabetics lose massive amounts of weight. If your family members stopped taking their insulin, they would indeed have a very powerful diet tool, they'd be peeing glucose and chugging out massive ketones as they burn protein. Of course, they'd probably lose their vision, kidneys and perhaps a limb as a result if they didn't die first, pretty big incentive to keep diabetes under control! I imagine diabetics on insulin would be dealing with the similar difficulties losing weight as women with PCOS.
>>Not all with IR are obese!!!!!! Did I say they were? But since you bought it up, I would imagine the biggest proportion of women with IR WOULD be overweight! I know not all women with PCOS aren't overweight. I was diagnosed with it when I was 23, and if anything, I was underweight then. <<Sorry for offending you.Geez, talk about raging hormones.>> Huh? Raging hormones? Again with the insults when someone tries to discuss anything with you. Get that chip off your shoulder, debate with respect, play the ball not the player. If you can't do that, take your bat and ball and play somewhere else.
