Are you sure 1000 to 1200 calories a day is enough for you while you're breast feeding? I hear what you're saying about the lack of carbs being a problem, but you might want to try upping the calories too. Some of the carb foods that are lowest on the glycemic index are beans, barley, unsweetened yogurt, apples, and lots of the veggies.
