PCOS birth control ineffectiveFrom: Stefanie (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri, 18 Jan 2002 23:47:23 -0600 (CST)
I was diagnosed with PCOS last year. Becasue I am not looking to get pregnant at the time, she put me on BC pills. They were a disaster. I ained weight, and I had my period for five days evry other week. She tried Progesterone only, and a combo of pro and estrogen. Nothing works. So I moved out of state, I cant get health insurance, and I took my self off the pills. SHe told me on the phone that my reaction is totally abnormal, and that I should have regulated within about three months. 9 months of therapy and I was worse off than before. I need help. I can not lose weight no matter what I try, I have the worst cramps imaginable, i grow hair in odd places, and i bleed irratically now. Is ther a diet regime that would help, are their drugs for the hirutism, and what can I do on my own without a doctor. Help!
