Barbara, I am sorry I have not gotten back to you sooner I got sick this weekend and have not logged on until this evening. Let me start by explaining the program I am on. It is a vitamin program that is based on different packages of vitamins/herbs that contain wellness/weight control. I think one of the reasons I have been so successful is because as PCOS women we strongly crave carbs. I tried to Atkins diet and know it is unhealthy way to live long term. I also could not cut out carbs completely and my cravings never went away. On the Advocare program (you can do a internet search) it is a protein based system and it works by curbing your appeptite, decreasing the craving for carbs, and giving you killer energy so you can begin to move. You start the morning with a packet of vitamins and a protein shake which contains more protein than anything else on the market. I add non-fat yogurt to mine for calcuim. The shakes come in vanilla and chocolate and are very good. The afternoon you take a second pack of vitamins prior to lunch and another pack halfway through lunch. Thats it!!! And the best part I still have carbs but in limited portions and I don't crave them. Advocare tells you to throw away your scale and just use your tape measure. I on the other hand took another approach and monitored both. Another thing that really helped was I had joined Weight Watchers 4 months before starting Advocare. Sounds crazy beacause Weight Watchers was working but part of the problem with PCOS is it takes sooo much to loose weight. I was strict and only losing .6 pounds a week. My biggest weight loss was 3.6 pounds and I was getting frustrated. Now I will tell you I had never done Weight Watchers before and I think it is great for getting you to recognize what you are putting in your mouth. But I think I would have given up without switching to Advocare. My sister who does not have PCOS has lost 55 lbs on Weight Watchers but she was dropping 2-4 pounds a week. Please send me an individual email at my above address because I can get you some samples to try but need to find out more information on you such as any medications, how much weight, etc. Elizabeth At Sat, 5 Jan 2002, Barbra wrote: >
