In no way do they push staying in ketosis for longer than two weeks, unless the person is really really overweight. Furthermore, I think you also missed reading the link I posted. It states right away what nutrients feed muscle and how they make up for that. To go even further, the diet states that you should maintain a very gradual weight loss. Please READ UP on the diets before you criticise them. (Type II diabetics are commonly told by drs and nutritionists to keep their carbs around 120g-140g a day... the Atkins diet gets you there by gradually teaching you to understand how your body reacts to food.)
