There are many healthy approaches out there, but ketosis is one of the worst. Maintaining a healthy diet, eating more frequent, smaller meals a day with more protein is the approach for women with IR and Over Active Thyroid function. The worst is loosing alot of weight in a short period of time, that is when you start to lose the muscle first. Then take a look on the scale, take a look at your body and you will see the sagging skin from the weight loss.Like a sausage without the insides. Then try and regain the lost muscle. Yes,looks great on the scale, but the harm it is doing to the body. Bear in mind that being overweight is unhealthy, but also dieting quickly shocks the body. When you loose weight so quickly, your body immediately stores fat,,looses the muscle mass....that is exactly what ketosis is. I have yet to see a woman on ketosis keep the weight off. That is not a healthy apporach at all. Rule number one is..muscle weights more than fat! Hoping this helps some that are suffering. When the thyroid is overactive, then you combat with a fad diet, your heart is mighty overworked. In OATD,the heart is already overtaxed.Don't worsen that problem by these fad diets. Stay Well Ladies, and check with a qualified nutritionist before attempting any new diet out there! Happy New Year to all!!
