Hi Valerie,

I don't want to come on too strong,as it usually gets me into alot of trouble;but I couldn't help but to respond to this message.

I am hoping this information that I give to you will not be taken the wrong way.

Loosing that amount of weight in such a short period of time is not healthy at all. I understand that women,or some women have a weight problem with PCOS,but with my experience in Nutrition,I would take these things into consideration first before loosing more weight so quickly.: 1)When you loose weight, you also loose muscle.Muscle does not mean only in the arms, legs, face etc,but also the major organs as well. This can be very dangerous. These diets that throw us into ketosis can also cause problems.

I have not even read the web that you posted,as not to give a personal opinion on the diet that you mentioned.

Loosing more than two pounds a week,is too much. The slower and more gradual the weight loss, the longer you will keep it off.

I understand the problems with the overactive thryroid gland as well. This can be more of a serious problem than you think.

Over weight women can still have a lean body mass index....there are also women out there who over underweight, but over Fat. It is the ratio of lean to fat that counts.

I am only trying to offer advice,as when my thryroid was overactive,it had very harmful effects on my heart. The heart is a muscle that needs nourishment to live. You cannot starve the heart. Some of the diets out there.....so many to mention, have left women with chronic heart problems, liver problems and more.

I am just advising to be very careful and before dieting anymore so quickly that you check with someone who is experienced with the type of diet that you are on.

I lost over forty pounds and was so malnourished that it was unbelievable.

Again,I understand and empathize with all out there with the weight issues, but consulting, first with a nutrionist or your doctor should be of benefit to those who seek loosing tremendous amounts of weight so quickly.

I hope that you don't take this the wrong way,as I am only trying to help by my experience with the dieting, and over active thyroid.

Good luck with your diet and please consult a specialist before attempting any new fad diets out there.

What works for some, does not mean it will work for others, especially since you have the over active thyroid gland. Most women with PCOS usually have the opposite,so if I may add, that it is important not to ever advocate diets to others, which in the long term, can leave them with more health issues to deal with.

Kind Regards
