Hi Grace,
>From what I've read and heard, I think the 'zone' concept is the way to
go, especially as a lifestyle change. The concept is basically that
each meal should contain a portion of carb and protein. By having the
protein with the carb it helps balance our insulin levels - and once our
insulin is balanced our side effects seem to decrease. I've just been
reading the 'body for life' book which seems to have a similar concept
to that of the 'zone', both are carb/protein balanced with healthy fats.
I've posted a message on the board to see if anyone else has had success
with the body for life programme, and am about to embark on it myself,
so I'll let you know how I go. But a basic rule to follow until you
find a plan you feel comfortable with is to cut out all sugar and bread.
