I should think most bookstores (as well as Amazon) would carry a copy of
the glycemic index. There are whole diets built around it. If that's
what you're looking for (and personally I would agree that it would make
a difference!) try looking there. A book that breaks down EVERYTHING
into high, low or moderate glycemic might be just what you're looking
for!
BTW, the glycemic index just measures how quickly a given food turns to
sugar in your bloodstream. If you eat, say, a bowl of icecream, your
bloodsugar will rise very quickly. If you eat a pork chop, it will rise
a bit, but rise slower and stay up longer.
