Perhaps it is a little more expensive; however, consider these thoughts... - you wouldn't eat as much protein as you would pasta or bread - for me, protein keeps me satisfied longer than a bowl of cereal - if you are prone to developing diabetes and you maintain a carbohyrdrate-reduced diet, maybe you will avoid the costs of being a diabetic??

Just some thoughts....

I think the reason why it is perhaps difficult to switch to such a diet is we are brought up on a high carbohydrate diet, and it eliminates our creativity when attempting to create lower carb/higher protein meals and snacks.
