Re: carbs, complex carbs, mass confusionFrom: tricia (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 12 Dec 2001 16:39:37 -0600 (CST)
Liz, I have been doing a lot of research on the carb issue. I think you are probably craving carbs because you are eating too many. If you start the day with carbs your blood sugar rises very quickly and then falls very quickly. Then you crave more carbs for the sugar rush. This creates a cycle throughout the day of eating and craving. I know that when I eat cereal of most anykind at breakfast I am not only hungry again 1 hour later, but I am hungry for more carbs. As for the complex carbs, they are OK for some people, but not for most with PCOS. Our bodies treat them almost the same way as "regular" carbs. Since I love nothing better than carbs of any kind I find this VERY annoying. Try starting your day with protien(eggs, sausage, cheese), and then eating a good amount of protien at every snack and meal. Good luck, Tricia At Wed, 12 Dec 2001, liz wrote: > >I am confused about the carb thing. I thought complex carbs were ok, we >just needed to really steer away from the regular old carbs.
