Re: I just can't do it...From: tera (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 12 Dec 2001 14:53:13 -0600 (CST)
Hi Monica! I'm just like you I just have more weight to lose! I wish I could high carb instead of low carb. But then I like meat and veggies too. Anyway, I have definately fallen off the healthy eating bandwagon and am getting back on! All I have to say is that you need to "weigh" the pros and cons of trying to change your diet. There are so many benefits to losing your 40 lbs.! You'll look better, feel better, won't have to buy any more "portly" clothes. Most importantly you will be in better health. At least for me, I do not start taking care of my body until I see that there are more pros than cons. The pros or benefits to losing the weight need to be your motivator. I'm not a huge fan of the low carb stuff either but it really does help with our PCOS and our insulin resistance. Take heart! My dad has a heart condition and his doctor is having him go on a very strict fat and salt restricted diet. Do you know how many food items contain tons of sodium?! Now I feel thankful that my health troubles call for me to cut back on carbs. I could be in his shoes. But I will try to watch sodium some too since I could wind up in his shoes someday! God bless! Tera
