lower carbingFrom: anonymous@obgyn.netTue, 13 Nov 2001 18:24:34 EST
I have been lower carbing (not atkins) for several months now. My periods have been regular for 4 months and they appear to be ovulatory( eggwhite and temp. rise) I'm curious about others of whom low carbing has worked for as well. How long have you been doing it and how long have your periods been normal as a result. More clearly, I'm wondering how long lower carbing may continue to work, or will it;s positive effects wear off over time? I understand that no one knows for sure but I'm hoping for some positive encouragement that I may be able to have some long lasting control through diet. Also, I interested in hearing what others take for vitamins, minerals, and herbs to help with pcos. I'm trying desperately to help myself without meds for now, because I'm still nursing my 13 month old. I know I need to be careful with vitamins as well and currently take pretty basic vitamins. I'm 37 I weigh 174, and need to loose at least 20 more lbs but I'm at a wieght loss standstill unless I do a drastic diet like atkins, which I do not feel is a good idea long term. My lower carb approach I feel is more liveable long term. Thanks so much Sandra in Minnesota
