It sounds really weird, but eating fruit or some vegetables as a meal is probably making the weight gain worse! It's so backwards with us. PCOS is tied up with insulin problems, namely insulin resistance and hyperinsulinemia or too much insulin. You can help that by lowering your carb intake - eating more protein, less bread, sugar, pasta, even fruit.

Are you seeing an endocrinologist about it? They should be able to help you out and I would definitely be wary of going to anyone who didn't at least suggest the use of insulin sensitizing drugs to teat it. That's pretty much standard treatment and it can be quite effective.
